Oodles of Doodles

Mother’s Day was last month and my mom is a major quilter. So, I wanted to do something special and design my own fabric for her to use in a quilt! Th subject, of course, had to be the fur children. The two golden ones are my parent’s goldendoodles, River and Bentley. The third dog is my screwball, Wyatt.

I’m very pleased with how this project turned out. It was my first time experimenting with pattern making, and it was quite enjoyable! I definitely took inspiration from Anna Daviscourt’s work. She streams weekly on Behance and has done some very lovely patterns of her own, featuring adorable animals! You should check her out.

I printed the fabric through Spoonflower.com and I can highly recommend their services. Their website was intuitive, the fabric was affordable, and the print-quality looks great.

My mom was super excited when she opened the gift. She immediately began to pick out a pattern and fabrics to pair with this print. (The color scheme is going to be pink, green, and dark purple.) I’ll be sure to share a photo of the quilt when it’s completed!

Tangentially related, May was also my dad’s birthday, and I’ve recently been playing around with miniature painting, so I created this little diorama for him, which also features the three dogs as D&D-style adventurers.

Thanks for taking a look!
